Proposition 62

November 25, 2019

In Proposition 62 says that criminals that have committed the most terrible crimes are able o stay alive on tax payers' expenses because it is less cheaper than executed the individuals and they will never be released. In the arguments, there is a side for against the proposition and one that is in favor of the proposition. Between the two sides I would most likely be against the proposition only because those people who have committed those terrible crimes must face the consequences of their actions. And within the argument against the proposition, the readers are able to see how strongly the authors feel about the topic and we are able to see that through their words. And by using such strong language to inflict an emotional reaction from the readers, they are influencing them to vote against the proposition. Also when the authors use specific examples to draw in the readers even more, it convinces them to choose their side and vote against the proposition. So by including such strong examples within this argument it convinces voters to disregard the opposing argument and convinces them to vote against the proposition.

Abortion (Free Choice)

November 25, 2019

In today's media there are plenty of social and political issues within it, one being abortion. When this topic is talked about it can either go two ways. One side is in full resentment towards it, or pro-life, and the other side being supportive of it, or pro-choice. Between sides I personally would choose the side that is in support of abortion. Not because I'm for disregarding a life, but because a woman has that choice whether she would like the baby or not. But in today's government law makers, which are men, are basing their opinions on something that doesn't even apply to them. So that brings to that conclusion that they really have no say, and should include those who the new laws apply to. And even though those who are "pro-choice" believe that killing the fetus is morally wrong, what they don't understand is that woman who wishes to get an abortion may have been raped and is now carrying her rapist's baby or she was impregnated under unwanted circumstances. Therefore, coming to my point that woman should have the right to involve themselves in topics such as these to have representation in the government.

My Relationship with media right now

November 18, 2019
My relationship with media is both positive and negative. It can be a fun experience to see and learn new things, but it can also be a negative experience. It can be exposure to violent or negative things such as bullying. Luckily, I am fortunate enough to have not experienced any sort of bullying towards me. But, I have unfortunately seen others get harassed, threatened, and others believing that making fun of another is humorous. I have seen plenty examples of threats being made to other people and I have seen threats that had to be taken seriously for the sake of a lot of people's lives. So far in my experience with media, it has been pretty positive and I have no issues with harassment or a any sort of bullying. This is because I try my best to surround myself with a positive environment and choose who I allow into my personal life in real life and my social media. I also believe that he media can be very interesting and give anyone an opportunity to see new things. And though I am not personally negatively effected by anything, I do see things that are a bit unsettling. Like how young adults are influenced easily by others and how they are focused on their appearances rather than improving who they are as a person. And how some are focused on how others might think of them and what their opinions are. Again, I am fortunate enough to be comfortable with myself to not care what their perceptions of me is and who I am as a individual. Like I find it interesting when I see someone, who is very beautiful in their own way, compare themselves to an influencer or even another person. Because I personally find individuality beautiful in its own way. I believe that media is a great platform to express and expose new ideas and things that need further education about, but I do also think it creates a negative environment for some. It allows those who are insecure about themselves to further that obsession of being accepted by others because only a certain image is "socially acceptable". But, in the end people's perception of media can vary depending on their relationship with it and the experiences they have had with it.
